Job Description:
We’re seeking a talented and driven CAD Designer / R&D Technician with specific, proven experience in lighting product design. You will play a key role in developing innovative lighting solutions tailored to demanding marine conditions. You will work directly with engineering, commercial teams, and external manufacturers to create detailed technical files, refine designs, and support new product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- ●Produce precise STEP, DXF, and fabrication‑ready drawings for metal lighting housings, brackets, trays, and related assemblies.
●Support the development of new, innovative, and cost‑effective lighting products for marine environments.
●Create and update electrical wiring diagrams and schematics specifically for lighting or lighting‑related electrical equipment.
●Work with contract manufacturers to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability, durability, and cost.
●Support prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements.
●Maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and engineering change records.
skills & Experience
Essential
- ●Proven experience in lighting design requires direct experience designing lighting products or lighting‑related assemblies.
●Strong CAD skills with the ability to produce STEP and DXF files ready for manufacture (particularly for sheet‑metal or fabricated metal products).
●Experience producing or interpreting electrical wiring diagrams for lighting systems or similar equipment.
●Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment with multiple ongoing projects.
●Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and external suppliers.
●Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
