About The Role:
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working on smart compliance technology for the social housing sector. This is a hands-on position, taking products from initial concept through to market delivery and developing IoT solutions that improve safety and efficiency in housing. You’ll work closely with our product development team to create smart compliance products that make a genuine impact on people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design & Development
- ●Design innovative enclosures, fixtures, and mechanical systems for our smart compliance products
●Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and high-quality rendered visuals
●Develop comprehensive technical documentation packages including specifications, assembly instructions, test procedures, and BOMs
●Establish PLM best practices for version control, change management, and cross-functional collaboration
●Build scalable production and assembly processes optimised for both prototyping and high-volume manufacturing
●Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- ●Work closely with firmware, electronics, and product teams to ensure seamless system integration
●Partner with external suppliers, toolmakers, and manufacturers to maintain quality standards and
production readiness
●Contribute to product validation and compliance testing
Requirements:
What Were Looking for
Essential Requirments
- ●Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
●2+ years of mechanical design experience
●Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD platforms
●Proven experience creating accurate technical documentation and production packages with strong attention to detail
●Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, and fastening systems
●Experience managing projects end-to-end, including supplier engagement and production oversight
●Self-motivated with project management skills and ability to work independently
Technical Experties
- ●Knowledge of real-world installation conditions and manufacturing constraints
●Experience with PLM system setup and management
●Understanding of design validation processes and quality control methodologies
●Familiarity with both small-batch prototyping and large-scale production workflows
Desirable Additional Skills
- ●Experience with CAM milling, SLA 3D printing technologies, and post-processing techniques
●Understanding of compliance and safety products (e.g., fire doors, emergency lighting, access control)
●Experience with IoT devices and electronic enclosure design
